Secularization is the process by which the people of traditional cultures and religions are de-acculturated, drawn away from religious practices and beliefs and absorbed into the so-called ‘modern’ understanding of the world in which science and Humanism are seen as the new ‘religion’ and in which Atheism or New Ageism are combined with Ego gratifying self-worship and the harmful misguided belief that all moral values are ultimately subjective. Some Muslim thinkers have embraced Secularism in their own way. Traditional Muslims however may coexist with it, live in it, even support it in many situations, but they shall never become true Secularists because they know that, in theory at least, they must support the way of governance established by the four Rightly Caliphs (Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman and Ali (may Allah bless them) as being the best way for the Muslim lands to be ruled. Many of them are fully aware of the reality of Enttraditionalisierung and the corrosion of traditional ways, their replacement with global consumerist culture and the loss of the Deen of Islam that is associated with this. In this light they espouse tradition supporting Monarchism and defend Monarchs who may be far from perfect, as they hold them preferable to gangs of liberal Atheists on the make, professional politicians who may often only be seeking to line their own pockets.
